Greetings,

As the leader of the Huni Kuin village, I bear the responsibility of preserving sacred natural healing knowledge and our spiritual heritage, deeply ingrained with nature’s wisdom.

I share these words: “Our actions ripple globally, affecting every human, regardless of age, culture, or place.”

My journey began at age 10, taking me from the forest to the city, where I discovered the power of my voice. It now channels the wisdom of indigenous communities worldwide, echoing our ancestors’ heartbeat. I returned to our ancestral lands with renewed purpose: to inspire youth, guide them back to the forest, and shape them into future leaders. Looking ahead, I envision a forest sanctuary for inter-generational knowledge exchange and skill development. Join me on this transformative journey.

With heartfelt gratitude and honor, I say: “Haux Haux,” a sacred phrase in Huni Kuin culture, expressing deep appreciation.

Chief Mapu, Huni Kuin

Nature doesn’t have a specific geolocation, it is the world itself.

“MY FAVORITE WORD IS HAUX HAUX, A SACRED WORD FOR THE HUNI KUIN PEOPLE WHICH ENCOMPASSES DIFFERENT MEANINGS OF DEEP GRATITUDE, HONORING, GREETING AND EXPRESSING THANKS.”

Mapu’s dream is to create a center for gathering, sharing and passing on skills and knowledge to upcoming generations, right at the heart of the forest. A place destined to become an educational center for youth, for good and for Nature.
