Amazônia Fund Alliance Program
Brings Indigenous Voices to the Spotlight
at the iconic Hôtel du Cap Eden-Roc, in Antibes
May 20th, 2024
On May 20th, 2024, during the Cannes Film Festival, Amazônia Fund Alliance and Planethon-365 brought together Global Changemakers and Very Important Indigenous People (VIIP) at the iconic Hôtel du Cap Eden-Roc. The gathering began with a reception on the rooftop terrace, followed by a lunch at the Eden-Roc Restaurant.
This exclusive event honored ancestral wisdom through traditional live chants, prayers, and blessings, while also celebrating environmental stewardship and cinematic storytelling with the premieres of two powerful documentaries:
“Dreams of Sonia” – a tribute to Sonia Guajajara, Brazilian minister
and activist, celebrating resilience and indigenous femininity;
and
“Raoni” – the journey of the legendary Kayapo chief and
international figure fighting to save the Amazon.
Both Sonia Guajajara and Chief Raoni were present at the launch of the Amazônia Fund Alliance at Cannes the year prior, making this year’s event a deeply meaningful continuation of our shared mission.
The event stood as a moving call to protect our planet and uplift the voices that have safeguarded it for generations.
